After the ICC T20 2009, a major event from the ICC is to begin in September, the ICC Champions Trophy 2009. In the last event in Pakistan won the cup and the last Champions T20.
After the unexpected terrorists attack on Sri Lankan team in Pakistan, ICC shifted Champions Trophy event from Pakistan due to security concern. Now the new location is South Africa, and finally, the ICC Champions Trophy will start from September 22, 2009. There are 15 matches in the series and all the top 8 circketing nation to participate.
